Shabbat Table

Seniors residing at secular facilities often feel completely isolated from the Jewish community and from Jewish holidays. No one deserves to feel lonely and detached from their heritage. United Jewish Generations performs hundreds of Shabbos and Holiday programs at secular facilities to allow the Jewish residents the opportunity to feel part of the Jewish community and Jewish tradition. We give the Jewish residents the ability to celebrate the Shabbos and holidays in the best way possible. If they can’t come to us we will go to them!

Shabbos programs at senior communities consist of prayers, songs, challah, grape juice and a short Torah sermon either connected to the weekly Torah portion, upcoming holiday or current events.

Holiday programs at senior communities consist of prayers, holiday songs, holiday delicacies, short Torah sermon about the holiday and a discussion about laws, customs stories and memories of each holiday.

Here is a list of our holiday programs:

  • Rosh Hashanah
  • Yom Kippur
  • Sukkot
  • Yud Tes Kislev
  • Chanukah
  • Tu B’Shvat
  • Purim
  • Passover
  • Lag Baomer
  • Shavuot
  • Tisha B’Av

We have reached out and offered Shabbos and Holiday programs to more than 60 elder facilities in South Florida and we are still counting! Please call us if you or a loved one is at an independent living, assisted living or nursing home and we will be honored to provide Jewish programs.
